hi, as of the title, can anyone shed some light for me..cos i'm a newbie in to TC car and also newbie for SUV.

based on the hearsays i've heard so far, its very fuel consuming...as its TCplus 2.5 plus its only 4spd...
but i think i better hear from the horses mouth to get a clearer picture..

hope the members here can advise..

thanks!

Bro, i think consumption depends on your travelling.

I for one has owned a WRX until in March when i swap it for the forester 2.5T and i think its alot more better driving than WRX cos my monthly bill is ard $380+ never more than $400.

Unless of course you push to "Power" button then it will use up more petrol.

City driving like Spore roads tends to be higher than those in rural areas which we dont have here....so i think to be able to get below 400km is considered good enough for a turbo charged car.

Hope it helps bro....

Oh no probs at all....

Am driving the SG9 model cos i like the look and shape rather than the new model (SH9)

Other than servicing regularly, the car is doing fine, gearbox is good but i must say the bodywork is not so good, always can find twitching or knocking sound coming from the rear....other than that the car is doing fine....

hi,you have any knowledge on the older version of forester? i dun knw wat is the model...maybe SF9? cos its before G and H. all i knw is this is the 2.0XT.
you have friends driving that? can comment on the probs or FC?
btw, i knw that the forester is on a 4sp auto..how is the pickup? and is it always at high rev when it comes to expressway driving?
thanks!

Older version is either SF5 or SG5 model and both are in 2 litre version.

SG5 models comsumption is almost same as SG9 cos body same but engine wise is more powerful at 2.5L.

I am driving SG9 with 245/40/18 rims and tyres and consumption is slightly more only cos like i said depends on your foot pedal on the gas......

Gearbox is 4 or 5 speed i cant remember but crusing is ok no high revs and pick up is good with turbo coming in at 2,800 to 3,000 rpm.

My full tank is below $80 and last me for 5 days

Hey Brudders,

I am driving the SG5 model 2.0X.
All Forester transmission is 4 Speed auto.
Except for the Manual which is a 5 Speed AND the 2008 series comes with a Diesel Version which is 6 Speed. ( but both not avbl in sg)

My Mileage is around 400 ++ if i go to work and home everyday and usu lasts me around a week.

I have Throttle Controller installed and the Eco Mode 5 can give me close to 500 and maybe a bit over. But I don't use it anymore as no power!

Sports mode 7 gives you a SHOIK!! feeling BUT close to 300++ per tank!!
