Hi, i'm kind of a newbie and i would like to know more about lowering my Impreza. As my friends told me in order to lower my car, i have to change my stock suspensions, and another thing is there is a number of suspensions available in the market today... I'm not sure which is good and a value for money... I'm not into total racing, so a moderate yet affordable kind of suspension will do... Any suggestions?

1st of all you must know what you are looking for. Is it comfort or stiffer ones? Also the budget you have.
Just a point to consider when choosing coilovers... 1 that provides comfort close to stock or some thing that is stiffer which is gd for hard cornering.

why you need to lower your ride??? Trust me, i use to lowered my previous car and it like hell going up and down of slope. Gotta be xtra careful. as it will grind your front lip or under carriage and most importantly it will void your warranty.
I think ppl lower their rides as to make their ride stable when cornering and Impreza already achieve that without you lowering it but again it just my 2cents worth of advise :)

Frankly speaking... subaru actually do understeer slightly if you ever really tried hard cornering.
Perhaps due to heavier front.
Besides lowering ride, why don't you consider rear anti roll bar, upgrading front anti-roll bar (yes stock comes with it!) and a front strut bar?
its cheaper then a set of coilovers. ;)
cheers!

Believe AWD is stable enough. Not worth voiding warranty by doing so =(
